Do you seek the blessings of Jesus Christ? This may come as a shock to you. Most people in Africa are seeking the woes of Jesus Christ without knowing it. Blind and deaf false prophets are leading the people astray. This is why you need to read the Bible for yourself.
“Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” — Matt. 15:14
Prosperity preachers are promoting the curses of Jesus Christ by calling them blessings, and they are speaking against the blessings of Jesus Christ by calling them curses. Isaiah foresaw this and said:
“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” — Isa. 5:20
Prosperity preachers are saying that the rich are blessed and the poor are cursed! They are ignoring the blessings and woes of Jesus Christ, who said, “But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.” and, “Blessed be ye poor: for yours is the Kingdom of God.”
Prosperity preachers are saying that the rich are blessed because they are well fed, full, comfortable, and fat. They are ignoring the blessings and woes of Jesus Christ, who said, “Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger.” and, “Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled.”
Prosperity preachers are saying that the rich are blessed because they have enough money to enjoy themselves in life. Essentially, they are saying, “Blessed are they that laugh now!” They are ignoring the blessings and woes of Jesus Christ, who said, “Woe unto you that laugh now!” and, “Blessed are they that mourn.”
Prosperity preachers are saying that the rich are blessed because they are highly esteemed, popular, honorable, and influential. They are ignoring the blessings and woes of Jesus Christ, who said, “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you!” and, “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” Why? “For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”
The blessings and woes of Jesus Christ were preached in the open air before crowds of people without apology in and The trends of salvation and condemnation were brought into view before the people. All were astonished and many were offended Nevertheless, the humble asked questions and got answers.
The blessings and woes of Jesus Christ were intended to shock people. A sudden break-in of bright light is always shocking to those who are sleeping in darkness. You may have noticed that the blessings and woes are categorical and general rather than specific and individual. The Lord wants sinners to understand things categorically and generally. Then they can ask questions to comprehend how these things apply to them individually.
“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” — Prov. 9:10
Jesus Christ declared a total of 8 blessings and 4 woes in two magnificent sermons. Let us explore them by asking and answering four questions: Who is blessed? What is the blessing? Who is cursed? What is the curse? Jesus Christ is drawing a line in the sand to help us discern who is saved and who is unsaved. He does this by specifying 8 good fruits of people who are saved and 4 bad fruits of people who are lost. In the same sermon, Jesus Christ said, “Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” — Matt. 7:15-20
The trees produce the fruit. The sinner produces the sin. Criminals commit crimes. Your nature determines what you say and do. We aren’t sinners because we sin. We sin because we are sinners. Sin originates from the sinner. The evil nature of the sinner produces the sin.
“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” — Rom. 8:5-8
Many Africans say that they have loved God their whole lives. This is impossible! Sinners “love” darkness and “hate” the light The flesh is not subject to the law of God, nor can it be. This is why Jesus Christ said that lost and condemned sinners “must” be born again! Corrupt trees cannot produce good fruit. Sinners cannot do righteousness. The corrupt trees must become good trees in order to produce good fruit.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” — 2 Cor. 5:17
Don’t receive verses of scripture without gravity as if you are chanting a motivational slogan. Be humble! Be sincere! Are you a new creature in Christ? Sinners must become saints. Righteousness originates from the Holy Ghost within the saints. Unholy sinners are made holy by the inhabiting presence of the Holy Ghost. The “divine nature” of the Christian produces the fruits of righteousness It is not our own work or human effort. We are “His workmanship” What you say and do reveals who you really are, just as the fruit reveals the tree.
It is biblical to examine yourself according to the Word of God in the Bible. As you can see, there are certain identifiable fruits that will prove that you are truly saved and a genuine Christian “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.” How do you identify a true Christian? Similarly, how do you identify a true prophet? Maybe some of you are thinking about prophesying, casting out devils, and performing miracles. These works are not the “good fruit” that Jesus Christ was talking about.
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.” — Matt. 7:21-23
Jesus Christ will separate the sheep from the goats on Judgment Day. I would advise you not to wait until then to find out where you stand with God. Those who ignore the Word of God or disagree with it may find themselves arguing with God in vain. You need to fear the Lord and allow the Bible to settle your dispute right now.
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”
– Matt. 25:34 (Rev. 22:14-15)
“Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” — Matt. 25:41
The fear of the Lord is a good thing. Fearless sinners are insincere, dishonest, and fake. Fearless sinners seek the praise of men. Fearless sinners are ashamed of the Word of God. Fearless sinners will deny the truth out of convenience or peer pressure. This is not advisable! We will all stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ and give an account.
“For we must all appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.” — 2 Cor. 5:10-11
