King Saul was shut up under the silence of God — then went to the Witch of Endor. Seeking counsel from witchdoctors is putting faith in demons, and Saul died for it.

King Saul was reprobate and demon possessed and spent decades trying to murder David (-16:15). Consequentially, Saul was shut up under the silence of God in the hour of his need
“And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled. And when Saul enquired of the Lord, the Lord answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.”

Saul knew that he was going to be killed on the battlefield without the blessing of God. The silence of God is a deadly manifestation of divine wrath that is reserved for sinners who refuse to repent. Have you repented of your sins? David watched Saul die under the silence of God. He took it as a lesson on the necessity of repentance.
“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:”

“Be not silent to me: lest, if Thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit”

We all have problems. We all need answers from God! You could say that Saul went to the Pastors, Prophets, and Apostles of the Church to try to get answers from God, but the Lord was silent. No dreams, visions, prophecies, or blessings were given to Saul. Therefore, in desperation, Saul attempted to make contact with God through the Witch of Endor. Similarly, when Africans have problems, they pray and fast and go to the Church for answers. If the Man of God can’t solve the problem, then they go to the Witchdoctor. This is a bad idea! Saul died for consulting a Witch.
“So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.”

In the beginning, Saul did enquire of the Lord, but when he encountered the silence of God, he became discouraged and went to the Witchdoctor. He should have repented of his sins and kept enquiring of God. Saul gave up on God and paid the price. Saul died because he asked counsel from the Witchdoctor rather than enquiring of the Lord.
So why do people think that their circumstances will be improved by going to the Witchdoctor? Seeking counsel or blessings from Witchdoctors, Shamans, Wizards, and Mediums is forbidden in the Bible because the people are putting their faith in the spirits of demons. This is a serious sin against God that was punished by death in the Old Testament.
“And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after Wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.”

Witchdoctors are possessed by unclean spirits and these demons defile those who resort to them for help Consequentially, God said, “Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.” Witchdoctors and their patients were all doomed to die by law! Nevertheless, many Africans still think that they can enquire of the Lord through Witchdoctors.
Some people read and think that Saul enquired of the Lord through the Witch of Endor because she was successfully communicating with the spirit of Samuel the Prophet. This is an incorrect interpretation. Saul did not make contact with Samuel through the Witch. Rather, according to Saul made contact with the “familiar spirit” that was in the Witch. This means that both the Witch and Saul were deceived by a lying demon to think that they were talking to Samuel. “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
Demons disguise themselves. Demons transform themselves. Demons present themselves to sinners disguised as someone else! In this case, the demon presented himself to the Witch of Endor in the appearance of Samuel the Prophet. She saw and heard from the demon and then told Saul what she was seeing and hearing. They were both deceived to think it was Samuel the Prophet.
Demons are masters of disguise. They have mastered the art of manipulation and deception. They are skilled liars. The Bible reveals how the “spirits of devils” work “miracles” to deceive the whole world You can call these lying signs and wonders because they promote deception in the earth
“Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel. And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul. And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.”

The Witch and Saul were sincerely deceived. The genuine nature of this deception is preserved in the record of Scripture. This historical account is narrated from the perspective of the Witch and Saul, both of whom were deceived because they were having fellowship with a demon. Nothing good can come from this, even as the Word of God clearly states.
“…I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.”

The personal perspective of those who are deceived is sometimes presented in the Bible as a lesson to readers. Why? Some people sincerely think that they are Christians even though they go to the Witchdoctor to solve their problems. Look up the verses! Some people sincerely think that they are fearing God even though they are still venerating idols Some people think that they believe in Jesus Christ even though they are slaves to sin and children of the Devil Some people think that they believe in the Gospel even though they are easily offended with persecution and quickly fall away
“Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

Saul and the Witch had an encounter with a demon. True to his nature, the demon spoke lies. However, these lies were delivered while speaking other things that are true. The Devil will tell you the truth while trying to feed you a lie. The following four lies are promoted by this demonic encounter.

There are gods according to the doctrine of witchcraft, and Samuel is a god.
Witches and demons have the power to bring up the spirits of dead people.
Saul and his sons died the next day, and their spirits went to be with Samuel’s spirit in Paradise.
Saul successfully enquired of the Lord through a Witch.
There is only one God. Samuel is not a god. Witches and demons do not have power to bring up the spirits of dead people from the afterlife. Saul and his sons (except for Jonathan) were wicked sinners who died under the wrath of God and went to Hell. Samuel was a righteous man and a Prophet who died and went to Paradise. Saul and his sons did not go to Paradise and join the spirit of Samuel in the afterlife Saul did not enquire of the Lord through a Witch
The spirits of dead people can’t go and do whatever they want whenever they please. The Prophets of the Bible have seen the souls in Heaven The Prophets of the Bible have seen the souls in Hell The souls in either place cannot go in and out as they wish. The spirit world consists of realms and domains equipped with closed and locked Gates that only open to those who have a legal right of passage.

Heaven is an everlasting Kingdom of glory. Hell is an everlasting Prison of punishment Souls that go to Hell will be locked up like prisoners are bound in chains and sit behind bars All the souls in Hell right now cannot ever come out, nor will they ever come out until the final resurrection, at which point Hell transitions into the Lake of Fire as a continuation of the eternal torment
Demons begged Jesus Christ not to send them to Hell because it is their Prison Originally, it was made for the Devil and Fallen Angels as a Prison Only God can build a Prison that can hold and keep angels from escaping. You can be sure that they can’t get ever out without the permission of God. Satan will one day be bound and kept in the “Prison” of Hell for a thousand years during the Millennial Reign of Christ He will not get out until he is “loosed” by God
Witchdoctors believe in a Spirit World that glorifies demons and promotes black magic as traditional medicine. This is a Spirit World that was invented by demons to allure you into a relationship with demons, even as you try to honor the memory of your dead family members. Satan, your Enemy, wants you to line up for an appointment with the Witchdoctor. Beware! Doing these things out of obligation or family pressure is nothing short of the “worship of devils” God is calling you to repent. Turn to Christ! Read the Bible. The truth will set you free.
Witchdoctors, Traditional Healers, and False Prophets have this one thing in common: Gifts, Tithes, & Bribes. Preachers for hire are a curse to Africa — and extortioners will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
God created you with two primary components: body and soul. The body is mortal and destructible. The soul is immortal and indestructible — and goes to one of two places in the afterlife: Heaven or Hell.
During a discourse in Capernaum, in Galilee, Jesus Christ spoke about the condemnation of notorious offenders in Hell (Mk. 9:42-48). Condemned souls will be subjected to the torments of unquenchable hellfire!
